Greyfriars Priory in Dunwich dates from the 13th century and is home to ghostly monks. Lights have been seen and the sounds of chanting heard. The legendary Black Shuck was also witnessed running through the ruins in 1926.
Willo-the-Wisps, known locally as Hobby Lanterns, are said to linger here. They try to lure people over the edge of the nearby cliffs. These dancing lights are supposedly most active at night between 29th September and 24th December.

Occult marks and symbols were once used in buildings to ward off witches and evil forces. This one can be seen in the Tudor Guildhall in Lavenham, Suffolk. It can be found in an upstairs room scratched into the wood above a fireplace.
