John was born in Edmonton, North London. He now lives in Suffolk. He's an actor, radio and TV presenter and is the author of books and magazine articles on history, crime, ghosts and folklore. One of his guides, Roman Lincoln, was turned into a BBC Radio documentary. He acted as the co-presenter. Other books include studies of Roman York, Oliver Cromwell and Victorian murders.
John currently writes for Psychic News and Suffolk and Norfolk Life. His features include celeb interviews and investigations into famous hauntings from the UK and beyond.
In 2018, John teamed up with film and TV writer and director Jason Figgis (www.imdb.com/name/nm2061884/). He was asked to become associate producer on the film, Simon Marsden: A Life in Pictures. Future projects involving John as a producer on Jason's films and TV documentaries are planned.
John is also an actor and has appeared in Series 3 of BBC 2's the Detectorists with MacKenzie Crook of The Office and Pirates of the Caribbean fame. He's also an on-going character in an independent production drama series, Our Town, currently being filmed in Great Yarmouth. He also wrote and acted in a short drama called The Last Journey which was filmed near the site of Borley Rectory in Essex.
John joined Norfolk based Smart Radio in 2017. He hosts a golden oldies show every Tuesday at 2 pm.
John was Mustard TV's regular studio historian for over three years.
He also wrote, presented and directed documentary features and interviews for Felixstowe TV and East Media Productions. One interview featured Richard Felix of Most Haunted fame.
John is also a photographer and has had his work featured in newspapers and a magazine. His first photographic expedition was held in Suffolk in 2017.
John has worked as a presenter at six radio stations and has several hundred shows to his credit.
John has been interviewed on BBC Essex, BBC Suffolk, BBC Lincolnshire, KCOR Radio, RWSfm, Felixstowe Radio, Felixstowe TV, Blythe Radio, ICR, Deben Radio, Blog Talk Radio, IO Radio and Minster FM about his books and his interest in history, ghosts and folklore.
John's has been the subject of articles in several newspapers/magazines concerning his books and interest in ghosts and history.
